Therapy from experience

I’m a London-based psychotherapist with a specialist interest (and qualification) in art psychotherapy. As an ‘integrative’ psychotherapist (apologies for the jargon), I have studied and practised many different approaches but I am not wedded to any one approach in particular. It’s what works for you that matters. I’m able to work both in-person and online.

I work across all forms of addiction, anxiety, depression, emotional overload, relationship difficulties, shame, low self-esteem, trauma and grief. Having MAs in both communication design and art psychotherapy, I am an enthusiastic advocate for using art materials as a way of helping my clients unravel and understand their debilitating, sub-conscious thoughts and feelings.

It was the many years I spent in therapy myself that eventually prompted me to retrain as a psychotherapist. And it’s this personal experience that underpins my natural empathy with my clients.

I’m able to see clients for both short and longer-term work. Even single sessions can be extraordinarily effective.

For more information about the different types of therapy I can offer, see my clients. If you would like to orangise a free, initial 30-minute telephone chat, to see how you feel talking with me or to ask any questions please get in touch.

Testimonials

  • I had a one-off session with Louise to help me explore a complicated personal issue. Louise held the space brilliantly, and the session really helped me to see things from a new perspective, and come to a more powerful place within myself.

  • My experience with Louise was fantastic. From start to finish it was a collaborative experience and she made me feel safe to talk about things. It helped me to understand myself better and move forward as a happier person.

    Johnny

  • I couldn't recommend Louise more highly as an art therapist. I was in a very bad place when I first met her and she gave me coping mechanisms that helped me rebuild myself. I use these weekly to understand myself a little better and the world around me. I am eternally grateful for the time we spent together.

    Christine

  • Louise allowed me to explore and express all my feelings and that made me feel understood in a way I haven't before. I highly recommend her.

    Pamela

  • Louise has helped me find out who I am meant to be. Her warm, non-judgemental approach was what I needed to work through my addiction and trauma issues. Louise draws from her own experience which meant I could relate to her and begin to heal.
